BlueWheel Counseling

a journey toward hope and healing
Meet Rachel Wheeler, LMHCA
Hello, I'm Rachel (she/her), a compassionate licensed mental health counseling associate in Washington. Whether this is your first time seeking counseling, or you are looking for a new counselor, the first place I start is by building your trust and letting you guide where we begin. Here is some information to help you know a little about who I am.
My counseling approach is warm, relaxed, person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. Authenticity and genuine connection are foundational in our work together. We all have a story. I remain grounded in the understanding that past and current environments, relationships, and lived experiences shape our thoughts about ourselves, relationships, and how we navigate life's journey. I believe there is hope and healing available, no matter the struggle. You are the expert in your own life, and I'm here to support you. Therapy is a collaborative process shaped by your goals, values, and lived experiences.
My background includes supporting children, adults, and families from culturally, spiritually, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I help clients navigate ADHD, anxiety, depression, religious trauma, grief, career changes, relationships, and parenting. I am also an experienced professional school counselor and support children and caregivers in navigating how to advocate for and support their child in school settings, especially in building their self-esteem, executive function skills, and distress tolerance.
Personally, I have a passion for multicultural experiences, art, nature, travel, and the transformative power of therapy. When I'm not in session, you can find me reading memoirs, listening to music, cooking, spending time with family, checking out the Pacific Northwest's cultural spaces, walking the dog, and navigating everyday life.
